NAWA Membership Appeal September 2011
Dear Friends,
Nepali Association of Western Australia (NAWA) is a social and cultural organisation which was established in 2005. The objective of NAWA is to provide a wide range of social and cultural activities to all people associated to Nepal and promote multiculturalism in Western Australia. To provide better services and faster cooperation among its members, NAWA would like to offer the following benefits to those who are registered as members:
- Offer discount to participants in social, cultural and community programs such as Dashain, Tihar, Teej and New Year;
- Organise information sessions for students and new migrants in WA;
- Provide emergency relief when funds are available;
- Provide relevant information about Nepal to interested individuals and interest groups;
- Continue broadcasting Radio Himal.
Finance is an essential resource for the purposes of planning and implementing the above programs and activities. As NAWA currently does not have sufficient funds; the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 31 July 2011 has unanimously passed and directed NAWA executive committee to introduce a nominal membership fee. Now NAWA has decided following categories of members and the membership fees.
1. Individual Member $15
2. Family Member $25
3. Five Year Individual Member $60
4. Five Year Family Member $100
'NAWA's only assets are those committed and sincere members who contribute voluntarily for its ongoing support'.
NAWA encourages all Nepali friends in WA and people with links to Nepal through culture, nature, arts, language, families, friendship, business and any other social interests to become NAWA's registered member. It will promote our objectives of multiculturalism and strengthen the sense of belonging to a generous, caring and cohesive society.
